An Ao Thalane kayaking half day tour, available as a morning or an afternoon session. On arrival there is time for a coffee or a tea while the guide runs through the route and the techniques for handling the kayak safely. Then you enter the Canyon, the heart of Ao Thalane, where the limestone cliffs rise sheer on both sides; you paddle into secret lagoons and pass caves such as Crocodile Cave, with the still water reflecting the colours of the jungle. It is easy to spot families of macaques among the mangroves, grey herons in flight and mudskippers hopping between the roots, and you also come across traces of local history, such as the old sea nomads' cemetery. ⚠️ The guide adapts the route to the tides, so as to enter the lagoons at the best moment.

We collect you directly at your hotel and take you to the unspoiled coast of Ao Thalane. On arrival, relax with a coffee or a tea while our expert guide describes the highlights of the route and the simple techniques for handling your kayak safely.
Once on the water, you enter the majestic “Canyon”, the beating heart of Ao Thalane. Here the limestone cliffs rise vertically on both sides, creating a natural passage of incredible beauty.
You will paddle inside secret “lagoons” and pass beside mysterious caves (such as the Crocodile Cave), where the still water reflects the colors of the surrounding jungle.
Keep your eyes open! It is very common to spot families of macaques playing among the mangroves, grey herons in flight and curious mudskippers hopping between the roots. You will also come across traces of local history, such as the old cemetery of the sea nomads.
After about two hours of exploration, we head back to the base for a little rest before taking you comfortably back to your accommodation.

What happens in case of bad weather?
Safety is our priority. If weather conditions make an activity dangerous or inadvisable, the excursion will be:
- Rescheduled: we will try to move the activity to another day of your trip.
- Replaced: if rescheduling is not possible, we will offer an alternative activity of equal value.
- Refunded: if neither rescheduling nor replacement is possible, you receive a refund for the excursion you were unable to take. Bank and collection fees on online payments are not refundable.
Please remember that rain during the wet season rarely spoils an entire day. You will always be informed in advance of any changes.
What are the pick-up times?
All meeting and pick-up details are clearly stated in your final travel documents (which you receive about 3 weeks before departure).
- Time: we will let you know the exact pick-up time. Please be ready at the agreed place at least 15 minutes beforehand.
- Pick-up point: in most cases the pick-up takes place directly in the lobby of your accommodation (if it lies within the areas covered by the service). If it does not, we will tell you the nearest meeting point.
What should I bring with me on the excursions?

- Suitable clothing: for example, long pants and no low-cut tops when visiting the Grand Palace in Bangkok, light and breathable clothes for hot areas, a swimsuit, or comfortable shoes for light trekking.

- Hydration: water, especially on hot days.
- Vouchers and documents: where required, a copy (digital or printed) of your booking voucher.
