Lazy James Bond and Koh Yao Island Tour: Phang Nga Bay Without the Early Start
Two things set this day apart from the other Phang Nga Bay trips. The first is the start: pickup is at 08:30, the boat leaves at 10:30, and nobody has to get up in the dark. The second is what happens after lunch, when most tours are already pointing home. This one keeps going, out to Koh Yao.
The morning is the classic route taken at an easy pace: a guided walk into the caves and inner lagoons of Panak Island, in the Mangrove Cave or the Crab Cave depending on the tide, then Khao Phing Kan and Ko Tapu, the rocks made legendary in 1974 by The Man with the Golden Gun, and a canoe session through the silent mangroves of Hong Island. Lunch is a buffet in the stilt village of Koh Panyee. After that the speedboat runs to Leam Haad, the Dragon Spine sandbar that rises out of open water, and on to a private beach on Koh Yao equipped with paddleboards, clear-bottom kayaks and a floating water park. You set off home at sunset, which is the best hour to be crossing the bay.

Pickup at your hotel reception for the minivan transfer to Leam Nga pier (pickup from Khao Lak on request, supplement applies).
Check-in at Leam Nga pier. The crew welcomes you with snacks and drinks, your guide runs through the day, and snorkeling gear is handed out (fins and a beach towel included).
You leave the pier for the spectacular limestone scenery of Phang Nga Bay aboard a comfortable speedboat.
Arrival at Panak Island for a guided walk among ancient stalactites and inner lagoons. Which cave you visit, the Mangrove Cave or the Crab Cave, depends on the tide.
A stop at the celebrated rock formations of Khao Phing Kan and Ko Tapu, made legendary around the world by the 007 film “The Man with the Golden Gun”.
A stop in the famous floating village, built entirely on stilts, for a generous buffet lunch.
A guided canoe session through the silent mangrove forest of Hong Island, close to the water and to the wildlife of the bay.
Transfer to Leam Haad to rest on the striking sandbar that runs out into open water, with paddleboards and clear-bottom kayaks to play with.

- Refunded: if neither rescheduling nor replacement is possible, you will receive a full refund for the excursion you were unable to take.
Please remember that rain during the wet season rarely spoils an entire day. You will always be informed in advance of any changes.
What are the pick-up times?
All meeting and pick-up details are clearly stated in your final travel documents (which you receive about 3 weeks before departure).
- Time: we will let you know the exact pick-up time. Please be ready at the agreed place at least 15 minutes beforehand.
- Pick-up point: in most cases the pick-up takes place directly in the lobby of your accommodation (if it lies within the areas covered by the service). If it does not, we will tell you the nearest meeting point.
What should I bring with me on the excursions?

- Suitable clothing: for example, long pants and no low-cut tops when visiting the Grand Palace in Bangkok, light and breathable clothes for hot areas, a swimsuit, or comfortable shoes for light trekking.

- Hydration: water, especially on hot days.
- Vouchers and documents: where required, a copy (digital or printed) of your booking voucher.
