Bangkok Kanchanaburi Ayutthaya Tour: Four Days Through the Heart of Siam
This is a four-day, three-night loop through the old heartland of Siam. You start in Bangkok and head west into Kanchanaburi province, where the traditional markets, the Bridge over the River Kwai and the surviving stretch of the Death Railway lie within a couple of hours of each other.
The route then turns north to the waterfalls of Erawan National Park and on to Ayutthaya, capital of the kingdom for four centuries and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The last leg is a cruise back down the Chao Phraya to Bangkok, watching river life go by from the deck rather than through a car window.
The tour begins and ends in Bangkok. The final day is left free, so you can rest, shop or add an optional excursion before your transfer to the airport for your onward flight or the next leg of your stay. On request we can also fill that day with a tailor-made extension.

Sample Itinerary
You start at the Maeklong Train Market, an old food market laid out directly on the railway tracks. When the scheduled train comes through, the traders fold back their awnings and pull in their goods in a few seconds to let it pass. Next is the Damnoen Saduak floating market and an hour by motorboat along the canals, through coconut and banana plantations, with produce changing hands from boat to boat. After the included lunch of local dishes you head for Kanchanaburi province. The first stop is the bridge over the River Kwai. You then board the train for a stretch of the so-called Death Railway: the line runs on wooden trestles pinned to the cliff face, and the views are as striking as they are sobering. At Tam Krasae station you visit the cave shrine with its Buddha images. At the end of the day, transfer to your hotel in Kanchanaburi, check-in and overnight.
After breakfast your guide and driver meet you at the hotel for a morning in Erawan National Park. The park is famous for its seven-tier waterfall, whose shape recalls the head of Erawan, the mythical white elephant, and for the emerald pools where you can swim. A path of about 2 km climbs from level to level through dense forest. After the included lunch you leave Kanchanaburi province for Ayutthaya, the old capital of Siam. On arrival you take an hour-long boat ride on the waterways that ring the historic island: from the water you watch the great Wat Chaiwatthanaram at sunset, the ruins lit by the last of the light. At the end of the day, transfer to your hotel in Ayutthaya, check-in and overnight.
After breakfast you meet your private guide and driver and head into Ayutthaya, the old capital of Siam about 80 km from Bangkok. Founded in the fourteenth century and UNESCO-listed, it is a holy city that has kept the charm of its four hundred temples in spite of the invasions of the past. The morning goes to the most striking sites: Wat Mahathat, with the famous Buddha head held in old tree roots, Wat Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit, and Wat Sri Sanphet with its three iconic stupas. You also visit the great and much venerated Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon. Around midday you drive to the pier and board a cruise boat bound for Bangkok. As you come down the Chao Phraya a buffet lunch is served on board, while rural life and riverside temples go past on both banks. When you dock in Bangkok in the afternoon our staff are waiting for the final private transfer to your hotel.
After breakfast and check-out the time is yours, for a rest or for whatever you feel like doing. At the agreed hour you meet your driver for the transfer to the airport and the flight on to your next destination.

Do I need a visa to visit Thailand?
Entry requirements for Thailand depend on your nationality, so there is no single answer that applies to every traveler. As of August 2026, citizens of more than 90 countries can enter for tourism without a visa and are granted a 60-day stay on arrival, extendable once by a further 30 days at an immigration office. Travelers from other countries must apply for a visa before they set off.
Two requirements apply to almost everyone: a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter the country, and the Thailand Digital Arrival Card, which you complete through the online form before you arrive.
Important: always check the rules currently in force for your own nationality with the Thai embassy or consulate in your country before you book, as regulations can change quickly. If you are unsure, ask us and we will point you in the right direction.
When is the best time to visit Thailand?
Thailand enjoys a tropical climate, but the seasons vary from one region to another:

What happens when I book the trip?
Once the final quotation has been confirmed, the procedure is as follows:
- Deposit: you will be asked for a deposit (30% or 50%), to be paid within 5 days in order to secure the services.
- Balance: the balance must be paid no later than 40 days before departure.
- Documents: no later than 3 weeks before departure, you will receive the complete itinerary with vouchers and confirmations.
Which payment methods do you accept?
You can choose between several options:
- Bank transfer: to a European bank account (in Euros) or directly to our Thai bank account.
- PayPal: payment by PayPal is also possible.
How can I buy cancellation and/or medical and baggage insurance?
Your Travel Consultant will recommend the best insurance partners for your needs. On request, we can book the policy on your behalf, with a small handling fee for managing the paperwork.
Do you also offer international flights?
We do not have our own flight ticketing service, but we are happy to help you look for the best deals. We can handle the booking for you, with a small handling fee.
What if I can no longer travel? (trip cancellation)
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions. If you have cancellation insurance, you will be refunded by the insurance company. Without insurance, the penalties set out in the contract will apply.
