Lazy Similan Fast Catamaran Tour: The Islands After the Morning Boats Leave
Most Similan day trips cast off at nine in the morning and are back by five, which puts every boat on the same beach at the same hour. This one does the opposite. Pickup is at 07:00, the catamaran leaves at 10:30, and the itinerary runs backwards: Koh Similan and Sailing Rock first, then the reef at Koh Ba Ngu, a meal and a swim on Princess Bay, and the last snorkeling stop at islands 5 and 6 in mid-afternoon.
The practical effect is that you arrive as others are leaving, and the low afternoon light makes the coral read far better than it does at ten in the morning. The boat is a modern fast catamaran: twin hulls, more deck to move around on and much less pounding on the way out and back than a single-hull speedboat gives you. Meals are covered three times over, guide and crew stay with you all day, and you are back at the pier at 18:20 for a closing buffet. The archipelago can only be visited between mid-October and mid-May, when Mu Ko Similan National Park is open.

Pickup at your hotel reception for the minivan transfer to Tublamu pier (pickup from Khao Lak to be confirmed).
Check-in at the private pier. The team meets you with snacks and drinks and hands out the snorkeling gear for the day (beach towel and fins included), followed by a briefing with the guide.
You leave the pier for the Similan Islands aboard a modern, stable fast catamaran.
A visit to Sailing Rock, the icon of the archipelago. Time to sit on the white sand, swim, or walk up to the viewpoint for a wide look across the islands.
Snorkeling at Koh Ba Ngu, at Christmas Point or Namchai Bay, an area known for the sheer density of its coral and the range of colorful fish over it.
You move across to the island for a good meal and a stretch of quiet on Princess Bay, in a natural setting that is hard to match anywhere else.
A second guided swim over the clear seabed, timed for the striking afternoon light that makes the underwater colors far stronger.
The comfortable catamaran crossing back to Tublamu pier begins.

What are the pick-up times?
All meeting and pick-up details are clearly stated in your final travel documents (which you receive about 3 weeks before departure).
- Time: we will let you know the exact pick-up time. Please be ready at the agreed place at least 15 minutes beforehand.
- Pick-up point: in most cases the pick-up takes place directly in the lobby of your accommodation (if it lies within the areas covered by the service). If it does not, we will tell you the nearest meeting point.
What should I bring with me on the excursions?
