A James Bond Island Early Bird tour, a day in Phang Nga Bay with an early departure to avoid the crowds: pick-up between 05:00 and 05:30 (depending on where your hotel is, between 04:00 and 04:45 from Khao Lak), a private lounge at the Royal Phuket Marina and departure around seven. You sail around Koh Panak among the limestone pinnacles that rise straight out of the sea, walk into the caves and reach James Bond Island with its famous rock stacks, seen in the film The Man with the Golden Gun. Then a canoe ride through the mangroves and the sea caves of Tham Lod, a stop at the stilt village of Koh Panyee with a Thai buffet lunch, and the climb to Samet Nangshe, the viewpoint that takes in the whole bay. What happens in case of bad weather?
Safety is our priority. If weather conditions make an activity dangerous or inadvisable, the excursion will be:
- Rescheduled: we will try to move the activity to another day of your trip.
- Replaced: if rescheduling is not possible, we will offer an alternative activity of equal value.
- Refunded: if neither rescheduling nor replacement is possible, you receive a refund for the excursion you were unable to take. Bank and collection fees on online payments are not refundable.
Please remember that rain during the wet season rarely spoils an entire day. You will always be informed in advance of any changes.
What are the pick-up times?
All meeting and pick-up details are clearly stated in your final travel documents (which you receive about 3 weeks before departure).
- Time: we will let you know the exact pick-up time. Please be ready at the agreed place at least 15 minutes beforehand.
- Pick-up point: in most cases the pick-up takes place directly in the lobby of your accommodation (if it lies within the areas covered by the service). If it does not, we will tell you the nearest meeting point.
What should I bring with me on the excursions?

- Suitable clothing: for example, long pants and no low-cut tops when visiting the Grand Palace in Bangkok, light and breathable clothes for hot areas, a swimsuit, or comfortable shoes for light trekking.

What time is the hotel pickup, and where does the boat leave from?
From hotels in Phuket pickup is between 05:00 and 05:30, from Khao Lak between 04:00 and 04:45: the exact time depends on where your hotel is and is confirmed the day before.
The boat leaves the private lounge at Royal Phuket Marina between 06:40 and 07:00 and is back around 15:00, with the transfer to your hotel included.
Which days does this tour run?
It depends on the season, and it is the first thing to check before you pick a date:
- November through April: every day;
- May 1 through October 31: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

How old do children have to be?
The child rate applies from age 4 to 11. From age 12 the adult rate applies.
Children under 4 cannot board, for safety and insurance reasons. Passengers over 75 and pregnant women are not accepted either. Keep in mind that the day includes canoeing through the mangroves and the climb to the Samet Nangshe viewpoint.
Which boat is used, and what happens if the minimum number is not reached?
You travel by speedboat: 20 seats on the twin-engine boat, 32 on the triple-engine one. The operator picks the boat according to how many people are booked on the day.
The tour needs at least 15 people to run. If that minimum is not reached we offer you another date or an equivalent tour, or we refund the amount you paid.
