Ang Thong 2-Day Cruise from Koh Tao: the Finest Archipelago in the Gulf
This is Ang Thong reached the slow way. You leave Koh Tao in the morning and spend three hours crossing open water instead of thirty minutes bouncing over it, and by the time the park comes into sight the day boats from Samui are already halfway through their program. That gap is the whole point of the trip. At 16:30, when the last of them pulls out for home, you turn for Talay Nai and look down on the salt lake with the light going soft and nobody else on the platform. The night is spent at anchor in a sheltered bay, three cabins with bedding provided, hammocks, or a mattress on the foredeck under the stars, with dinner cooked on board and a shower on deck. The second morning belongs to Wua Talap, the main island of the park, walked before anyone else lands.

Sample Itinerary
Meet at 09:20 at our base in Mae Haad, Koh Tao, and cast off at 09:30. After around three hours of easy sailing across the Gulf of Thailand you reach Ang Thong National Park. The first stop is the clear water off Koh Wao or Koh Nippon, for a first session over coral and tropical fish, followed by lunch served on board. In the afternoon the boat makes for Koh Sam Sao: you can go back in the water, walk up to the viewpoint, or simply spread out on the beaches. At 16:30, as the other boats leave the park, you head for the famous Emerald Lagoon of Talay Nai and take in its colors in complete quiet. The day closes with dinner on board and a night at anchor in a sheltered bay, rocked by the sea. Sleep in one of the three comfortable cabins (sheets, blankets and pillowcases are provided by us), in a hammock or, if you like, under a magnificent starry sky on the foredeck. There is a shower on board: just remember your towel.
The day starts with a generous breakfast on board, then an early move over to Wua Talap, the main island of the park, to explore it before the crowds arrive. Ahead of you are a walk of about 40 minutes up to the viewpoint, with a sweeping view over the whole archipelago, and a look inside Bua Boke Cave (around 20 minutes among stalactites and stalagmites). Keep your eyes open: you may spot the macaques that live on the island. There is time on the white sand too. At around 11:30 you are back on board for lunch and the scenic sail home. Arrival at Mae Haad, Koh Tao, is expected between 16:00 and 16:30.

What does the price of the trip include?
The price of the trip includes all the services, any domestic flights and the accommodation mentioned in the programme we have proposed to you (for example: overnight stays, transport, excursions and any other experience specified).
Do I need a visa to visit Thailand?
Entry requirements for Thailand depend on your nationality, so there is no single answer that applies to every traveler. As of August 2026 citizens of more than 90 countries can enter Thailand for tourism without a visa and are granted a 60-day stay on arrival, extendable once by a further 30 days at an immigration office. The Thai government has approved a reduction to 30 days that has not yet come into force, and travelers from other countries must apply for a visa before travelling: always check the rules for your own nationality before you book.
Two requirements apply to almost everyone:
- Passport: it must normally be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter the country.
- Digital Arrival Card: you are required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card through the online form before you arrive.
Important: please always check the rules currently in force for your own nationality with the Thai embassy or consulate in your country, or on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, as regulations can change quickly. If you are unsure, ask us and we will point you in the right direction.
When is the best time to visit Thailand?
Thailand enjoys a tropical climate, but the seasons vary from one region to another:

What happens when I book the trip?
Once the final quotation has been confirmed, the procedure is as follows:
- Deposit: you will be asked for a deposit (30% or 50%), to be paid within 5 days in order to secure the services.
- Balance: the balance must be paid no later than 40 days before departure.
- Documents: no later than 3 weeks before departure, you will receive the complete itinerary with vouchers and confirmations.
Which payment methods do you accept?
You can choose between several options:
- Bank transfer: to a European bank account (in Euros) or directly to our Thai bank account.
- PayPal: payment by PayPal is also possible.
How can I buy cancellation and/or medical and baggage insurance?
Your Travel Consultant will recommend the best insurance partners for your needs. On request, we can book the policy on your behalf, with a small handling fee for managing the paperwork.
Do you also offer international flights?
We do not have our own flight ticketing service, but we are happy to help you look for the best deals. We can handle the booking for you, with a small handling fee.
What if I can no longer travel? (trip cancellation)
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions. If you have cancellation insurance, you will be refunded by the insurance company. Without insurance, the penalties set out in the contract will apply.
What if something unexpected happens during the trip?
Your peace of mind is our priority. Should anything go wrong, we will act promptly with our local partners to rearrange your itinerary, and you will have English-speaking assistance with you throughout the trip.
Where do you sleep during the cruise?
You sleep on board. The boat has three comfortable cabins with beds (sheets, blankets and pillowcases are provided). You can also sleep in a hammock or under the stars on the foredeck, on comfortable mattresses. There is a shower on board as well: just bring your own towel.
What is the difference between the shared and the private cruise?
On the shared cruise you pay a per-person rate and share the boat with other guests (maximum 12 passengers). On the private cruise the Wassana VIP is yours alone: the base rate covers up to 5 passengers, with a supplement for each additional passenger.
